I created Style Grésivaudan, in January 2009. Envisioned as an online lifestyle magazine it was primarily targeted at readers in the Grésivaudan valley and in the Grenoble urban area, France.
On a regular basis, the publication brought fresh ideas and inspirations to readers, through articles on topics I am passionate about. Architecture, design and home decoration were prominently covered. Other popular subject categories included art and culture, leisure and sports, shopping ideas, gastronomy, events in the region, local entrepreneurs, places to see here and beyond, automobile, technology…
Initially envisioned for a local reader base, the site had attracted a wider audience over time with a mix of local and general subjects.
For more than four years, I ran the project solo taking care of every aspects of content creation, including ideation, research, writing and edits. I carried out all necessary networking, direct communication with public relations departments and interviews. I also took care of web design and development, SEO, analytics and marketing. The project was implemented using WordPress.
Revenue was generated through ad placement primarily tapping into Google AdSense’s extensive network of online advertisers. During those years, I experimented with various ad formats and placements in order to maximize conversion.
This solo project not only represented a formative experiment, an opportunity to learn and grow. It proved to be a useful showcase of my interests and skills in web, content, media, journalism and marketing, leading to an opportunity to collaborate with the Free Presse media group and write for print magazines Cosy City and Cosy Mountain. Due to these new opportunities and commitments, Style Grésivaudan went silent in 2013 after a 4-year long run.
